Before starting work at Carnroe Dam, we visited the site to take accurate measurements. This step was important to ensure everything was properly planned before moving forward with the project.
Renovation works at Carnroe Dam are progressing well, with two phases now completed on the eastern side of the River Bann. Sixty percent of the weir has been successfully repaired. The final phase, currently underway on the western side of the river, is scheduled for completion this autumn.
As part of this project, we supplied our locally sourced basalt stone for the reinforced bank. Basalt was selected as it matches the stone originally used during the dam’s construction. The stone has been repointed with lime mortar, adhering to traditional methods to maintain the historical integrity of the structure.
